BIO
It all started with the quintessential camcorders and toy cameras available to the average 90s kid. But it really took off when Jasper Gibson’s dad wrapped up a Nikon d40 for his 14th birthday. Left to his own devices, Jasper found a way to capture his childhood muse—the wilderness tucked between the Selkirk and Cabinet mountains of northern Idaho—with inspired perspective and deep reverence. And then he turned the lens on his friends.
Jasper’s well of empathy and curiosity, not simply for what another is doing, but life through another’s eyes, creates candid, authentic captures that all but erase the camera. His natural talent, incessant drive, and always-expanding expedition knowledge have cultivated a portfolio that touts some of the world’s most respected athletes in tucked-away places around the globe. Jasper has cut his teeth in Chamonix shooting ski mountaineering photography, documented a paleontology expedition in the Gobi Desert, captured a whitewater kayaking trip in Mexico, and made tracks with his camera all over British Columbia’s rugged mountains to name a few.
Throughout his exploits, Jasper has never lost sight of his photographic purpose: to showcase the world’s natural beauty along with its ordinary and extraordinary human inhabitants.
